Best AI quoting software in 2026
AI quoting software drafts a priced quote from your own prices for you to review and send. Here is what the tools in this category do differently, and when a different kind of tool is the better fit.

What AI quoting software does
Short on time? Jump to the comparison table.
AI quoting software drafts a quote for you. You describe the job, paste the customer's email or attach a photo, and the software writes a first draft. You check it, change what is wrong, and send it.
A finished quote is more than a list of prices. A good draft covers everything the customer needs to say yes:
- Line items with quantities and prices.
- A short introduction that says what you understood about the job.
- Agreements: payment terms, earliest start date, validity.
- Planning: the phases of the work when the job has more than one.
- Rates for extra work the customer should know about but that are not in the total.
This roundup is published by DoneQuote, so read it as a guide to the category, not an independent ranking. DoneQuote is built for three things:
- A draft from your own catalog, not a generic cost book.
- A page the customer opens on their phone and approves online.
- A reminder before the quote expires.
Each section below says when another tool is the better choice.
Who this is for
This article is for businesses that quote from a known list of prices: painters, cleaners, electricians, landscapers, HVAC and plumbing companies, and B2B teams that sell from a product and service catalog.
If you measure quantities off drawings first, you still belong here. Takeoff software does the measuring. A quoting tool prices the quantities from your catalog and writes the rest. Rates per square foot and per region live in that catalog as units and price grids.
What to check before you choose
Ask three questions of any tool:
- Whose prices does the AI use? Your own catalog, a general cost database, or both.
- What happens after you send? Can the customer open it on their phone, pick between options, ask a question and approve without a reply email?
- Who reminds the customer? A reminder that goes out before the quote expires, a prompt that asks you to send one, or nothing.
The AI quoting tools
DoneQuote: a draft from your own catalog
DoneQuote drafts the quote from your own catalog. You review every line and send a branded page the customer approves online.
Main features
- AI draft from your catalog: line items, introduction, agreements and planning.
- A line with no catalog price is left for you to fill in and flagged. An estimate appears only when you ask for one, or when the catalog is empty, and it is labeled.
- Packages and optional extras the customer picks on the quote. The approved version records the choice.
- A reminder before expiry when you turn it on in your quote settings. An expired quote can be extended and reminded again in one step.
- Assisted setup: hand over your website and price list and the catalog is built for you.
- An AI intake chat that asks the customer follow-up questions on your request page.
| Good fit | Not the right fit |
|---|---|
| You send quotes every week from prices you already know | You send a few quotes a month, so the draft saves little |
| Most jobs repeat, with custom details on top | Every quote is different, with nothing to put in a catalog |
| You want the customer to choose, ask and approve on one page | You need invoicing, scheduling or bookkeeping in the same tool |
Current plans are on the pricing page. The first 10 sent quotes are free, with no credit card.
Handoff: AI estimating inside a general contractor product
Handoff is AI software for residential remodelers, home builders, trade contractors and handymen. Estimating is one part of a wider product that also covers project management and invoicing.
Main features
- AI estimate from typed or spoken scope, photos or plans. Its site describes AI takeoffs from blueprints.
- Prices from catalogs you import plus local supplier and labor pricing.
- Customers review and approve from a link; a typed signature can be required.
- Up to five estimate options in one proposal.
| Good fit | Not the right fit |
|---|---|
| You estimate remodels from plans and photos | You quote from your own catalog and want only the quote |
| You want project management and invoicing in the same product | You want an AI intake chat, which its pages do not list |
| You price with supplier and regional cost data | Your work is not residential construction |
Handoff is the general product and DoneQuote the specialist. The DoneQuote and Handoff comparison goes through the rest.
Jobber: field service first, quoting second
Jobber is field service software for scheduling, dispatch and invoicing. Its Copilot drafts quotes from requests, past quotes and templates, and supplier catalogs can price materials.
Main features
- AI draft from request details, past quotes and templates.
- Customers approve or request changes from a link; deposits can be required.
- Scheduled follow-ups.
- Optional line items and line-item images.
| Good fit | Not the right fit |
|---|---|
| You run crews and need calendars, dispatch and invoices in one app | You only want the quote done well and keep your other tools |
| You draft from past quotes and templates | You want the customer's choices saved on the approved version |
Where DoneQuote does more: the catalog setup is done for you, the customer's choices are saved with the approved version, customers can reply with photos in the quote conversation, and an AI intake chat collects the job details before you draft. The DoneQuote and Jobber comparison goes through the rest.
The tools compared
| Tool | AI draft | Whose prices | Customer approves | Reminder |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DoneQuote | Yes | Your catalog | From a link, choices saved | Before expiry, when switched on |
| Handoff | Yes | Imported catalogs plus local supplier pricing | From a link | Advertised |
| Jobber | Yes | Your items plus supplier catalogs | From a link | Scheduled follow-ups |
| Quotient | No | Saved items and templates | From a link | Dashboard prompt, you send it |
Quotient: quoting without AI
Quotient is standalone quoting software. You build each quote by hand from saved items and templates. Its documentation lists no AI drafting.
Main features
- Saved items, templates and CSV price-list import.
- Optional items and multiple-choice groups, with the total updating as the customer chooses.
- Approve from a link, with an optional drawn or typed signature.
- Customers post questions directly on the quote, and you see when and how often they viewed it.
| Good fit | Not the right fit |
|---|---|
| You like building each quote by hand from saved items | You want the first draft written for you |
| You want to see views and questions on the quote | You want the reminder sent without clicking send yourself |

When a different category is the right tool
- A designed proposal with a signature. PandaDoc gives you templates, a quote builder, optional items and e-signature. AI drafting of priced line items was not verified. See the DoneQuote and PandaDoc comparison.
- Measuring quantities off drawings. That is takeoff. STACK is one of the best-known takeoff tools. Use it for the measuring and a quoting tool for the quote.
- Products with configuration rules. CPQ, short for configure, price, quote, is heavy software for products where choices constrain each other and quotes route through internal approval.
DoneQuote stops at rules between options and internal sign-off. If picking one option has to remove another, or a discount has to route through a manager, that is CPQ.
Quoting or estimating?
Estimating is working out what a job costs when you do not know the number yet. Quoting is getting a number you already know onto a page the customer can approve. The difference is explained in estimate, quote or bid: the difference.
Common questions
Does the AI send the quote by itself?
No. In DoneQuote you review every line and send the quote yourself.
Will the AI invent a price?
Not silently. In DoneQuote a line without a catalog price is flagged and left for you. Any estimate is labeled.
